Reveal 1.0

Reveal is an application for Mac OS X that reveals and hides hidden folders and files in Mac OS X in the finder. If you quit the application while hidden folders are visible, it will set them back to hidden before closing.

To launch the application, double-click it from the /Applications folder.

To reveal the hidden files in Finder, click "Show Hidden Files".  This will quit finder, set "defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles ON", then restart finder.

To return the Finder to it's normal function, click "Hide Hidden Files". This will quit finder, set "defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles OFF", then restart finder.

You can quit Reveal at any time, but if Reveal is terminated while hidden files and folders are visible, it will politely set them to hidden before it exits.

This Mac OS X package (.pkg) will install a folder in your /Applcations folder that includes the reveal app, plus the source code for the app.
